What We Offer

We provide thoughtfully planned clay classes that serve as fun and informative introductions to ceramics. Here at The Cozy Bookwyrm, we offer Coffee & Clay workshops in collaboration with Cafe Mata, and intimate Pottery Wheel Clay Dates for couples that want a more personalized experience.

Our sister location, Bookworm Pottery & Co., offers a wide variety of ceramics classes and services. For the more serious potters, our Cargo District location offers 6-8 week wheel series courses and monthly studio memberships. For the dabblers, we offer beginner-friendly sculpting workshops and group Pottery Wheel Date Nights. We also offer private wheel and sculpting classes by request for birthdays, girls’ nights, bachelorettes, corporate team-building events, and more.

  • Love the idea of making your own mug? Love coffee on a Sunday morning? Then this session is for you. This class is at our Cozy Bookwyrm location in the South Front District

    In this pottery workshop, you'll learn how to create ceramic travel mugs from scratch. No clay experience needed--it's completely beginner friendly! Enjoy a creative, relaxed outing where you’ll learn the skills to make stoneware creations that can be cherished for years to come!

    Participants also get an exclusive 15% discount to Cafe Mata to enjoy a yummy plant-based drink during the class.

  • Want a completely private 2:1 session on the wheel with your favorite person? You found the perfect place. This class is at our Cozy Bookwyrm location in the South Front District

    In this private 90-minute workshop, you'll get the chance to try your hand at wheel-throwing in an intimate experience with a skilled instructor. No clay experience necessary! Come enjoy a creative, messy time with your significant other, best friend, favorite sibling, parent, and so on.

    If you’re over 21, feel free to BYOB!

  • Ready to advance your skills on the pottery wheel? Come enjoy a 6-8 week wheel-throwing course! This class is at our Bookworm Pottery location in the Cargo District.

    In this multi-week series, you'll learn how to make vessels on the wheel from start to finish. No clay experience necessary! Whether you’ve never been on the wheel or if you’re simply looking to brush up on your skills, this will be a fun and informative class series meant to help you on your pottery journey.

    Beginner classes are offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Intermediate classes are offered on Wednesday evenings.

  • Want to learn how to make pottery without committing to multiple weeks? Need something fun to do with the family? Then these fun workshops are for you. This class is at our Bookworm Pottery location in the Cargo District.

    In these one-time classes, you'll learn how to create various functional wares and small sculptures from scratch. Enjoy a creative, relaxed outing where you’ll learn the skills to make stoneware creations that can be cherished for years to come! Perfect for families, couples, friends, and solo learners--all are welcome! Adults over the age of 21 can BYOB!

    A percentage of the proceeds from these workshops are donated to a local nonprofit each month as a part of our Clay Creates Community giving initiative. Together, we can make our community a better place!

  • Need a new, fun idea for your next date night? We've got you covered. This class is at our Bookworm Pottery location in the Cargo District.

    In this 90-minute pottery class, you'll get the chance to try your hand at wheel-throwing in a small group setting with other pairs. No clay experience necessary! Come and enjoy a creative, messy evening with your friends, siblings, parents, or significant other. A commemorative Polaroid photo is included to remember the evening by.

  • Do you have experience working with clay and community studios? Are you itching to further explore your pottery journey independently? Then sign up for Independent Studio Time! This offering is at our Bookworm Pottery location in the Cargo District.

    Membership Perks include unlimited studio hours during open hours, premium after-hours options, regular kiln firings, use of community glazes, knowledgeable and helpful staff, storage for supplies & in-progress work, discounts on workshops & pottery supplies, member-exclusive events, annual pottery sales, and more. We also have a pretty special community of people <3

    Memberships are discounted for folks who have taken a wheel series class with us prior to signing up.

  • Our pottery classes are designed to be enjoyed by people of all skillsets, so no clay experience is necessary!

    We provide up to 2 hours of instruction, all necessary materials, and firings of your work at our studio. Organizers can choose between a group wheel-throwing class at Bookworm Pottery, group hand-building class at either location, or group pottery painting session at The Cozy Bookwyrm depending on what you would like to make.

    These workshops are excellent for corporate team-building events, bachelorettes, birthday parties, family get-togethers, friend meetups, book clubs, girls’ nights and more!

    • Wheel Throwing: up to 10 people, starting at $95/person at Bookworm Pottery

    • Hand-Building: up to 20 people, starting at $65/person at either location

    • Pottery Painting: up to 30 people, starting at $45/person at The Cozy Bookwyrm
