What We Offer

We provide thoughtfully planned clay classes that serve as fun and informative introductions to ceramics. Here at The Cozy Bookwyrm, we offer Coffee & Clay workshops in collaboration with Cafe Mata, and intimate Pottery Wheel Clay Dates for couples that want a more personalized experience.

Our sister location, Bookworm Pottery & Co., offers a wide variety of ceramics classes and services. For the more serious potters, our Cargo District location offers 6-8 week wheel series courses and monthly studio memberships. For the dabblers, we offer beginner-friendly sculpting workshops and group Pottery Wheel Date Nights. We also offer private wheel and sculpting classes by request for birthdays, girls’ nights, bachelorettes, corporate team-building events, and more.

All clay class tickets for both locations can be purchased at www.bookwormpotteryco.com.

  • "Love this studio and all the talented instructors who are part of it! There are always so many classes offered for all interests and levels of skill and you can do hand building or wheel throwing which is great for those who like having options. Everyone is always friendly and kind and it’s a great place to make friends if you’re new in town or just looking for community. Also makes a great date night activity!"

  • "Bookworm Pottery/Cozy Bookwyrm has been the best thing I never knew I needed! Such wonderful spaces to create and learn clay, and the staff are all so sweet and welcoming and talented! Going to the studio to create, or to cozy to paint is so therapeutic and fun. Ashley (owner) is an absolute gem of a human also. Can't say enough good things about Bookworm/Cozy! One of my favorite places in Wilmington <3"

  • "I took a Coffee and Clay class in April, and had the best time. I had just finished a 5-week pottery course at home, and wanted to continue learning while on vacation. I spent the time learning how to pull walls for mugs and it was so incredibly helpful. When I returned home I was able to use my skills and continue my technique. I cannot wait to come back to Wilmington to take another class!"

  • "Bookworm Pottery is one of Wilmington’s hidden gems. I have taken a couple of classes there and also gone for a “paint your own pottery” slot. The vibes are immaculate and the studio is incredibly welcoming and friendly. I can’t wait to bring my niece when she visits this summer."

    —Julie K.

  • "I have the pleasure of attending several workshops and pottery painting events. This place has been a wonderful experience with staff that are engaged in the process, answer any questions, and are always so thoughtful. The first workshop I attended was several years ago and it's been such a honor to witness it's growth into great opportunities for the community. Keep up the great work and am looking forward to future classes!"

  • "I have done multiple classes with different instructors with Bookworm pottery and have enjoyed every single one! I often get classes as gifts to family, and they've enjoyed the classes as well. I would highly recommend gifting any experience here to family, friends, or yourself!"

  • "This studio is amazing! I love the freedom of creativity in making a piece yours and learning a new craft. No matter how many times I go, the team is always very attentive and helpful, and I have a great time every time I go, it’s very therapeutic. Their sense of community as well is always inspiring, they’re always donating to a local cause and bringing the community together through art. One of my favorite places to go!"
